We are delighted that once again Lancashire Music Service will be running our popular ‘Instrument Days’ across the academic year! The days offer the chance for complete beginners through to advanced musicians to come together and celebrate their instrumental specialisms, or have a go for the very first time! It is an opportunity for like minded young people from across our County to have an enjoy a large scale inclusive instrumental project. From Strings to Percussion there is something for everyone with some exciting brand new days for 24/25!

Here’s what people say about our instrument days:
“My girls have absolutely loved attending the sessions and since the brass day one has hired a cornet! Thank you so much for letting them stay for the sharing show at the end of the day as complete brass beginners. The brass day was their absolute favourite out of the three. They would have liked a longer try on other woodwind instruments than recorder but still has a fabulous day overall. They thought the Marines were inspiring and loved playing the snares and the glockenspiel. They are looking forward to more days like this in the future to try new instruments or just ones they don’t have lessons in. My eldest has joined Strings Inspire since the days and we love that our weekends have been full of music and joy. As parents we have loved seeing the children play at the end of the day and the kids are always inspired by those having played the instrument for longer. Thank you so much for all your organisation, we look forward to joining more of these sorts of days in the future. What a fantastic opportunity for the children, music is so good for them.!
“Thank you for creating such a wonderful celebration of music. Em is more inspired and enthusiastic about playing and I loved hearing all the young people playing together at the end of the day. I used to play until 6th form when the demands of ‘real life’ got too busy, and it reminded me of the power and vital importance of music to make life a better place. Thank you.”
“My daughter had a tearful spell during the day and I cannot praise Jay and the lady who looked after her highly enough. Very kind and caring. She loved her day and it reignited her desire to play.”
“What a day! Thank you so much for creating such a warm, welcoming, supportive environment where Eva could have fun with music. She had an absolute ball and learned so much. And the pride on the faces of all the young people at the end of the day was a joy to see. The whole day was a brilliant example of how to engage young people in music. Thank you.”
“Elijah said he wished he could do that every Saturday. Music is his happy place he has had a tough start in life so days like these mean everything to him. Thank you to all of the people involved we know that behind these days there is a lot of hard work. Well done LMS what a fabulous day.”
“Would love opportunities that brings all ensembles and new people together more often. Really enjoyed having exposure to other types of music and ways of playing. She has also stated that she would like to be like Toby the RNCM Engage person and follow in his footsteps and then become a music teacher herself.”
“It was amazing. She absolutely loved it. It would have been great as a parent to know up front the timetable as I could have dropped off and picked up rather than hanging around – though I did get to chat and find out a lot from being there, also got to listen to some awesome music!”
“More please!”
“Very enjoyable day & very well organised.”
“Natalie had a fantastic time at Brass Day. Thank you so much to everyone involved from Lancashire Music Service for such a wonderful opportunity.”
“As always, Jake thoroughly enjoyed his day. He thinks all of the tutors are amazing and loves spending the day with all his best friends. He really enjoyed working with the RNCM students as well. It is also great to see former members of LMS ensembles helping out at these events.”
“Fabulous day, skilled and friendly staff, well organised. Watching the kids flourish at the end sharing was brilliant. Thank you 😊”
