Welcome to the M&B Family Daniel. Daniel BrindleLEYLAND BAND BB BASSI started playing Trombone when I was in year 4 inprimary school.In year 6 I then started at Red Admiral Music Academyunder Danny Brooks. When Reds youth band entered the action medical youthcontest the band needed a bass player so i volunteered playing Eb Bass. We ended up winning, my first contest won. After the contest Danny let me try the BBBass. I played one note and he said “you have the job”.A couple of years of concerts and the odd contest went by and I joined the Lancashire Youth Brass Band when I was 16 to which I’m still apart of today as a young leader.Then lockdown came I took part in zoom rehearsals and a few lockdown onlineperformances.When we could start meeting up in groups of 6 Dannyinvited me to the Elland Silver Band where I stayed for 3 good years,absolutely loving it, they made me so welcome as i had gone from 4th sectionbanding straight to a championship section band but I was ready for thechallenge. We competed in several contests like the Yorkshire area, Bolsovercontest, Whit Friday march contest, the Scottish Open contest and more. I havemade some forever friends at Elland. I was invited down to play with the Leyland Band 2 years ago now, andI have been loving it ever since I joined. The band has opened even moreopportunities like playing at the North West Area, The British Open Contest.This year we came 2nd at the North West Area Championships giving me my first opportunity to compete at my first National Championships of Great Britain at the Royal albert Hall.
