Brass Foundations Engagement Day
This practical workshop afternoon will be led by BBE Youth Brass Development Specialists Helen Minshall and Sheila Allen. This is an ideal professional development opportunity for educators based in schools or community settings, and gives a great chance to network with teachers in the local area.
Helen and Sheila will be focusing on delivering exciting sessions to beginner brass players, including:
- Using rhythm and singing warm-ups
- Developing skills in playing to backing tracks
- Teaching techniques to beginner players
- Using confidence building exercises
- How to structure a rehearsal
- Encouraging trying out different musical instruments
- Connecting with the Model Music Curriculum
This will include a live rehearsal and demo session with a Lancashire Music Service Brass Ensemble.
