Our annual Chorley big sing event, rebranded as “Lancashire Sings”, celebrated its 5th year this month, with 3 concerts at Chorley’s Town Hall.
Nearly 800 singers from 23 schools across the Chorley District came together to work with Lancashire Music Service vocal leader Kaytie Harding and a live band, and performed to an audience of family and friends on June 11th, 12th and 13th.
“This is our 5th year working with Chorley schools and the event has gone from strength to strength. We have more singers than ever and it’s a joy to work with them all” said Emma Williams who leads the programme of singing events across the county.
Michelle Culshaw, Music Lead at Brindle St James Primary Schools said “Thank you very much Emma, Kaytie and the rest of the team that provided a wonderful event for our children. The children of Brindle St James’ made many special memories. We really hope we can attend next year.”
Sara Boardman from SS Peter and Paul’s in Mawdesley said “We really enjoyed our day at Lancashire Sings@Chorley and have had lots of positive feedback from the parents who came to support us. Thank you for a great choice of music, it always makes me smile to see our children singing in different languages and performing actions. Looking forward to joining you again next year for more music, culture and laughter.”
